3 Years Ago Today

3 years ago today, I lost my biggest fan, my grandma.

I flew to Korea next day and stayed in Korea for 2 weeks.

I miss her a lot but am happy that she is in heaven where there is no pain.

One thing that kills me is that I didn't even get to say good bye to her.

I was mad at myself about that until I watched "Courageous"

There is a scene where Adam Mitchell said

"Dear God, thank you for the nine years you gave me with Emily. I don’t know if it’s okay to ask this, but will You please tell her I did my part of the dance?”

That hit me.

I had never thanked God for the 28 years He gave me with my grandma.

Since that moment, I tried to thank God whenever I miss my grandma.

My grandma would yell at me if she sees that I posted this picture of her on my blog but I hope she's dancing and partying in heaven right now.

I was probably 3 or 4 and my grandma looks super young!

Since my both parent worked when I was growing up, my grandma raised me and my sister.

This was taken in 2006.

We loved to counting the coins when we killed our piggy banks.

This is taken at her funeral in 2009.

We put my grandma's ashes around this tree and call this tree "Grandma tree".

It's been a week since my hubby and I met our lovely Gamja.

I've been taking so many pictures of him and I feel like he lives in my cell phone!

I love this picture. He looks so cranky but awfully cute!

He likes to stare outside.

He was meowing this morning.

I'm still having a hard time whenever he meows.

I'm not sure if he is hungry, or he needs to go to potty or he wants to play with me.

I love when he falls asleep in my arms.

He loves my laptop and computer, especially the keyboards.

He likes sitting on the keyboard!

We watched Friends(Friends is my No.1 favorite TV show!) together last night.

My hubby and I got to celebrate our belated Valentine's Day on Thursday :)

We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant(I told him that I wanna eat spicy tofu there.).

I ordered my favorite Szechwan Chili Diced Tofu!

My hubby surprised me with this Valentine's Day card :D :D :D

Oh, after dinner and we came home and watched STAR WARS!

One of my friend who moved to CO last fall was in town so we got together and had lunch. She gave me this honey and it's so yummy! Thank you, Jimin unnie!

After lunch with my friend, we went to Korean Bakery that I'd never been.

The place was really huge and filled with lots of bread.

I got this awesome yogurt bubble tea!

I wish I could have this everyday!

I started my weekend with baking!

Happy Friday night, everybody!

I gotta tell you that I'm having so much fun with Gamja :)

There was a little accident this morning.

I played with the cricket pad this morning(I know! Yuk!).

His paws were really stick and the groomer lady from pet store told me

that my Gamja might die because he's been licking his paws

that are covered with the glue from the cricket pad.

I got freaked out! Plus she was really mean to me!

(I HATE MEAN PEOPLE!)

I called Moxie Pest Control(They put the cricket pad in my basement.)

to see if the pad is poisonous and THANK GOD IT'S NOT POISONOUS!

I'm still mad at the groomer lady and the fact Gamja's paws are still covered with glue but I'm so glad that he's ok :D

I included Gamja to Blythe on Friday for today :)

I'm glad to see Gamja Samsoon get along!

When I got home today, Gamja was sleeping with my hubby.

Last night, I barely slept since Gamja was awake.

Since he took a nap with my hubby today, I'm not sure if he's gonna go to bed tonight!

He's fully charged and has been playing with his toys for 2 hours!!

I put Sally Hansen(Aflorable) for Valentine's Day.

Lots of people have given me compliments about my nails!

I gotta be honest with you.

I was washing my hair and looked at my fingers.

I almost screamed!! I thought I WAS BLEEDING!!

I went to doctor's office today.

I've had this itchy problems on my legs so I thought it would be easier for me

to wear long skirt than skinny jeans.

I got this cute skirt from thrift store and I LOVE IT!

I'm about to do ddalki diary but I think Gamja wants me to play with him!

Instead of doing ddalki diary, I've decided to play with him :D

I went to the vet to pick up Gamja today :)

I did it by myself!! :p

When we went to Petco last Saturday, we picked this carrying case.

I'd never been to the vet before so it was exciting experience.

The vet lady told me to put the seat belt over the carrying case and I did it.

Poor Gamja who didn't know what the heck was going on meowed couple times

and fell asleep. Then he woke up, meowed and fell asleep again :p

This is Gamja's favorite toy.

My hubby and I almost screamed when we found this sugar glider!!

Gamja is still purring and chilling with me :D

Happy Valentine's Day Eve!!

My awesome hubby got me this cutest kitty for Valentine's Day :)

We've named him "Gamja". It means potato in Korean :)

My mama loves potatoes and this kitty has the potato color :p

My hubby and I went to 6 different pet stores on Saturday morning.

We couldn't or, should I say "I COULDN'T" find the kitty that I wanted.

I almost gave up.

We grabbed lunch and on the way back, we saw animal shelter.

Somehow, I thought they were closed on Saturday but they were opened.

We went in and we saw Gamja and his brother there.

I wanted to keep both kitties but I wasn't sure I could handle 2 kitties.

I felt bad and still bad that I had to separate them though :/

They are both 5 months old and since Gamja has short hair, we picked him.

I hope that Gamja's brother will find home soon.

We couldn't bring Gamja home since he wasn't fixed.

He went to vet and they did a surgery on him this morning.

I just picked him up after work today :) :) :)

He's been purring since we've brought him home :D :D :D

Over the Weekend

One of local pet store near our house, they had some cute puppies there.

I almost wanted this puppy instead of a kitty, but this little fella costs $1,100.

He was so cute but we didn't wanna spend that much money!

Have you ever been to Pei Wei?

My old condo used to be near Pei Wei so I used to go there a lot.

My hubby took me to Pei Wei to cheer me up since I couldn't find a kitty that I wanted.

(it was before we went to animal shelter.)

Gamja original name is Ginger.

There was this cute decoration at the animal shelter :)

After the animal shelter, my hubby and I went to Petco near our house.

We had to prepare everything before Gamja got home.

I wanted to buy PINK collar for Gamja but my hubby wanted to get black or blue one since Gamja is a boy.

We ended up getting a white collar that protects Gamja from fleas.

Today, I change one of my Blythe's eye chips.

I've never opened their heads(It's too scary to do that!).

I hope that I can be brave enough to open their heads next time!

Please see the picture below.

1 eyes are looking at the right side.

3 eyes are looking at the left side.

2 and 4 eyes are looking at the front.(Like they are staring at you!)

If you want to change their eye chips without opening their heads,

you can only change 2 and 4 eyes.

These are what you need.

I normally order the eye chips from coolcat-coolcat.

Woori Soogie used to have orange eyes.

1. Melt the glue stick with a lighter for 5 - 7 seconds.

(Make sure you hold the eye lashes!

You don't want the glue touching the lashes!)

2. Stick the glue into the eye and put the pressure for 1 or 2 minutes.

(Once the glue gets hard, you don't have to hold the lashes anymore.)

3. It's time to pull the glue stick!

4. Repeat 2 and 3 for the other eye.

5. Put the glue on the NEW eye chip and place it on the eye carefully.

5. Mission completed! Enjoy the NEW eyes :)

Toms Ballet Flats

Toms Ballet Flats are here!!!!

I waited, waited and waited and I ordered them on Feb 1st!

My shoe size from Toms is 6.5 but I heard that Toms Ballet Flats run about a half size bigger than my normal size so I ordered 6.5 and 6.

6.5 is bigger but 6 fits me perfectly!
I wanted to ordered all the Ballet Flats but they are not that cheap
so I ordered this. (Shocker! Isn't it?)

If you like to get one of Toms Ballet Flats, make sure that you order a half size smaller than your normal size :)

Shooting, Shooting and Shooting!!!

My hubby and I went shooting with my cousin and his friend yesterday.

I've been at the shooting range for 3 or 4 times.

I always get nervous whenever I enter the place though!!

I want to practice so I can be a good shooter :p

They ran out of the blue target so I got to shoot this pink target :D

My hubby was helping me with using the gun :)

I was shooting, shooting and shooting!!!

My right shoulder still hurts!

The Village Thrift Store

Yesterday, I had lunch with my awesome friend, Renee at T.G.I. Friday's.

I had Brocoli Cheese soup and salad there. They were yummy.

I found a new thrift store near T.G.I. Friday's yesterday!!!

It's called "The Village Thrift Store".

I don't have lots of house stuffs, cups, picture frames, books, and etc

but THEY DO HAVE SOME ADORABLE CLOTHES!!!

I wanted to get some colorful clothes with some patters and YES! I did it!

I like Unique but the only that I don't like about there is they don't have any fitting rooms.

In the Village Thrift Store, they have some fitting rooms so I got to try on the clothes :)

I can not wait to go back and get more cute clothes!!

On the way home, I went to grocery store and GOT THE SMART BACON!

New thrift store + veggie bacon = Happy Jane :D

I was lazy yesterday so I did Blythe on Friday #5 today :p

I got my middie Blythe last year and I did some plastic surgery on her face this morning.

Her name is Hee and I've named her after my best friend :D

This is her original face.

I sanded her face and carved her lips a little bit.

This time, I made her nostrils noticeable :p

(You have to squeeze your eyes to see what I did on her nostrils!)

Then I put some colors on her cheeks and on her lips!

You can see her NEW nostrils her CLEARLY!

Oh! I put some green for her eye shadow also :)

This is a new day of my life.

I went to work, came home and walked about 1 hour.

I carved the lips and painted the lips.

I was gonna change the eye chips also but I will do it next week, hopefully.

These are the ones that you need.

1.sandinig sponge 2.soft pastels 3.carving knife

4.clear acrylic paint 5.brush 6.some Q-tips 7.Some cotton balls

This is Jane Jr. and I carved her lips couple years ago

and apparently, the result was horrible.

(Look at those big ugly 2 lines on her upper lip!)

Use the sanding sponge and sand her lips.

Her lips color is gone.

Now use the carving knife and make those 2 lines on her upper lip smaller or disappear.

Hang on, Jane Jr.!

Mommy(I'm a mommy to my Blythe dolls) is almost done!

You barely see the 2 lines that used to be on her upper lip!

Pick a color that you want to put on her lips.

I mixed red and white.

Put some of the pastel on the Q-tip when you are ready to paint the lips.

I forgot to take a picture but when the lips are done,

put some of the clear acrylic paint on the brush and then brush.

Doesn't she look stunning?

(I put some blush on her cheeks also!)

Now I'm gonna keep drinking this tea and read a book :)

Planning the wedding was fun but also stressful.

I'm kind of sad that planning and getting married are over but I'm also relieved.

I ordered a personalize stamp from Kozue and stamped this on each cards.

My parents and my hubby helped me :)

Setting up the reception tables were fun :)

My parents brought these adorable "Lucky pockets" for the wedding favors.

In Korea, normally older people put their money inside of the Lucky pockets and give them to their children when they bow to them on New Year's day.

I recently received my 2nd wedding ceremony pictures from our wedding photographer.

In June 17th, last year, my hubby and I had our 2nd wedding ceremony

at Milton Ridge in Clarksburg, MD.

Milton Ridge was recommended by my mother-in-law

and when my hubby and I visited there, I fell in love with Milton Ridge.

It wasn't that a big wedding and we had about 100 - 110 guests in our wedding.

Milton Ridge was just so perfect :)

Being a Part Time House Wife

I've been a wife for 8 or 9 months now.
I can't say I'm a full time house wife since I'm not at home 24/7.
(Does that mean that I'm a part time house wife? sounds weird!)
When I do house work, I get help from my awesome hubby!

I'm so grateful that my hubby's been helping me with house work a lot :)

I don't mind doing laundry but I do mind folding them.

I love taking a break between house work.

Yesterday, I folded the laundry. I painted nails. I cleaned the kitchen.

I've become to love baking and cooking after I got married.

I baked some cupcakes and made some cupcake push pops for small group last night.

Again, here is my break.

(I guess that's why it takes forever to do/finish house work!)

I made cupcake push pops. I read a book. I started to make dinner.

I love potatoes and love to peel them too!

I made Doenjang jjigae(Soybean Paste Soup) for the first time.

I put some tofu, potatoes, winter mushrooms and a little bit of pepper powder.

This past Monday was Lunar New Year and I hope everybody enjoyed it!

I cooked Tteokguk(That's what Korean people eat on New Year's day.) and invited my in-laws.

I put some Kimchi Mandu there and it was delicious!

I made some spicy tofu and Donggeurang ttaeng(Patty made with tofu, meat and vegetables, coated with eggs and pan-fried).

Everybody loved them and it made me so happy :)

On Tuesday, my hubby and I invited my cousin and his friend.

I cooked Tteokguk, spicy tofu and Donggeurang ttaeng again.

They loved them all too and it made me really really really happy!

After dinner, we played TV Superstars PS3 Move.

I've played couple times and did not know it was this fun!!!

My Bamboo Capture Case

I'm not sure if you remember but my hubby got me a sewing machine last year.

Then I picked "My First Quilt" as my first project.

(It was a huge mistake!)

I've decided to make my bamboo capture case that I got from my hubby for Christmas last year since I could not find anybody who's selling the case.

I cut my failed quilt and here are the result.

I got 2 fabrics and 1 cotton pad.

I was being stupid and used the outside of the fabric to draw the lines and sew!

(I wasted 1 hours!! ARRRRR!!)

Then here we go. I did it right this time!

For the edge of the case, I couldn't figure out how to use the sewing machine,

so I went back to basic. I sewed it with what God has given me, my hands.

I didn't like how it looks inside(messy!)

so I cut the fabric and attached(sewed) it to the inside.

The last part of the project was sewing the velcro to the case.

Tada! It's done!

If I didn't make any mistakes at first place, I think I would've been able to finish this within couple hours but it took more than couple hours.

About the sewing machine and sewing skills,

I think the more you use and practice,

the more you will get familiar with them :D

Pineapple Yogurt Popsicles

Last weekend, I made another popsicles.

This time, I made the pineapple yogurt popsicles!!!

This is how I made them.

ingredients

Greek Plain Yogurt, popsicle maker, canned pineapple and agave syrup

(I did not forget to add agave syrup this time!)

1. Mix the pineapples with yogurt.

The amount of the pineapples and the yogurt is really up to you.

2. Add agave syrups.

(What I did was adding little by little of agave syrup

and I stopped doing it when this yogurt mix became sweet.)

3. Put the yogurt mix in the popsicle maker.
(Please make sure that you leave .25 inch on the top of the popsicle.

Otherwise, they will overflow!)

4. Put the popsicle maker in the freezer for 6 hours.

You have leftover?

Don't worry!

You can eat it as it is!

6 hours later..... I had one and it was so good!

Hope everybody had a good weekend.

Here is what I did yesterday(Sunday) afternoon.

My hubby and I went to metro around 1630 and the parking lot was empty.

My hubby got to park me car in a perfect spot :D

Metro doors were locked and everybody was standing

and waiting for them to be opened for 5 - 10 minutes when we got there.

It was so cold!!!

My hubby found some awesome camera feature on his camera

and he got to play with it.

(I think he's into his cellphone photography now. :p)

We went to DC to see this event!

It was the BEST event I've ever gone to!

He was so funny and inspired me a lot!

The event was from 1800 - 2100.

When we picked up our car at metro, it was around 2130.

There's IHOP near metro so we had late dinner there :)

I ordered hash browns and eggs.

They came with bacons so I gave them to my hubby.

(I'm vegetarian.)

and I ordered blueberry pancakes :D

Vinyl Record Bowl

This is my first DIY :D :D :D YAY!!!

It's Saturday morning and I wanted to have popcorn for breakfast.

(Don't tell my mama about this please!)

I made a popcorn bowl with vinyl record!!!

I accidentally bought 2 of Bill Cosby's record, I started out as a child

from used book store last year.

I was gonna throw away one but I didn't.

I was thinking 'What can I do with this record?'.

I made a bowl with it and this is how it works :)

You will need...

(Some people use oven safe bowl but I don't have one so I used a pot instead.)

Heat the oven to 400 degrees and when it's ready, put the record on the top of the pot.

Make sure to center the record album over the top of the pot.

I leave them for about 20 seconds.

Take it out of the oven, shape it however you want and it was getting hard.

(When you shape it, MAKE SURE THAT YOU WEAR THE OVEN MITTS!)

I didn't like the shape of this so...

I put the record again in oven and this time I put the pot this way.

Before I put the pot upside down.

I leave the in oven for 15 more seconds.

Again take it out of the oven and then shape it however you want.

(DON'T FORGET TO WEAR THE OVEN MITT!)

This time, I love the shape :D

Now it's time for me to have breakfast :D

Making Milk Chocolate Glaze for Cupcake Pops

Last Monday, I posted "Cupcake Pops".

Couple nights ago, I was craving something sweet(Shocker, right?)

so I made some milk chocolate glaze for cupcake pops.

(Believe or not, I'm not a huge fan of white chocolate.)

I followed the recipe that I used last monday and I don't mind repeating here.

Here is a recipe for Milk Chocolate Glaze.

Ingredients

1 package (6 ounces) milk chocolate, 3 tablespoon heavy whipping cream,

3 tablespoons butter(cut into thirds and softened),

1/5 cup confectioner's sugar(sifted), 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1. Combine milk chocolate and cream in a deep bowl. Microwave on HIGH power for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave on HIGH power for an additional 10 to 15 seconds if necessary for milk chocolate and butter to melt.

2. Blend in sugar and vanilla. Stir smooth.

3. Dip cake pops in warm frosting dip. Microwave on HIGH power for 10 to 15 seconds as needed to keep a glaze consistency.

Personally, I love this than white chocolate glaze :)

(Note to myself : Put 2 tablespoon of butter next time. It was still too buttery:/)

I started drawing ddalki diary in 2007.

I was dating a guy who moved to Korea at that time.

I came up with this idea of drawing this diary

so he could see how my daily life was going.

(Eventually, We broke up later sometime in 2008.

Long distance relationship is not my thing)

I do not speak to him anymore.

I don't have any whatsoever connection with my ex boyfriends.

Once you break up, they become strangers to your life. This is my theory.

Since I failed this last time, I decided to have an assistance this time.

My super duper awesome hubby was a great helper! Thank you, Yobo!

This times, instead of using cake mix, we baked from scratch!!!

Here is the recipe for Vanilla Cake Pops.

(This is from a manual which comes with cupcake maker.)

Ingredients

1 1/5 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup butter(softened)

1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla, 1/2 cup milk

Oops, I forgot to add eggs on this picture!

1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

2. In a separate bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy.

Beat in eggs and vanilla.

3.Alternately blend in flour mixture and milk into butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.

4. Fill each cooking reservoir with about 1 tablespoon of batter.

5. Bake 4 to 5 minutes or until a tookthpick inserted into a cake pop comes out clean3

6. Aren't they so pretty???

Homemade Popsicles :D

I love making popsicles. They are easy to make and they taste good! Really good!!

Here are the ingredients.

Plain yogurt, popsicle maker, blueberry jam and Nutella

It's really up to you what kind of flavor you want to have.

I've put banana, strawberry jam and chocolate syrup before.

OH!!! THIS TIME I FORGOT TO PUT AGAVE SYRUB!

It gets sweet once you add some of agave syrup. Don't put it too much.

While you are adding, you might want to add agave syrup little by little and taste it.

Otherwise, it's sour and not that sweet.

Mix plain yogurt with blueberry jam.

(I mentioned earlier that I forgot to put agave syrup and this is when you want to add agave syrup little by little.)

Mix plain yogurt with NUTELLA :)

Make sure that you don't fill these fully. Leave .25 inch on the top.

(Otherwise, they will be overflowed!!!)

Keep these in the freezer for 6 hours.

(I know this is a hard part ; Waiting for 6 hours!!)

Birthday Party Night

We got together last night and celebrated their birthdays at noraebang!

Oh, and this is what I had before we headed to noraebang yesterday.

We ordered some Korean Alcohol called Soju.

I don't like original/regular Soju but I love some pineapple Soju! So good!

Of course we ordered my No. 1 favorite Korean food, Tteokbokki.

My hubby got some DVDs, games, shoes and this awesome mustache bottle opener :D

I have not seen this TV show and I'm excited to see this with my hubby!

Meatless Bacon Jalapeno Cheese Poppers

One of my friend, Violet posted this recipe on her blog the other day.

They looked so yummy so I made them for dinner last night :)

Since I'm vegetarian, I used Meatless Canadian Bacon instead of turkey bacon.

It was super tasty and my hubby loved it too :)

It was raining yesterday so I decided to bake whoopie pie :)

It was my first time and I loved it!

I used Pillsbury Moist Supreme Sugar Free Devil's Food Cake Mix.

I think I was supposed to fill 2/3 but I think I filled them too much :/

Tada!

Frog and Hippo liked them and so did my hubby :D

Today, I was off and I ran some errands.

I went to my favorite bakery and got this awesome Peach Yogurt Bubble Tea.

I've had bubble teas before but NEVER HAD YOGURT BUBBLE TEA!

If you haven't tried them, YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THEM!!

SO GOOD!!!

I went to DMV and luckily, DMV is inside of shopping mall :)

I got some hand soaps!

I got the tickets for Nick Vujicic!!!!

He's coming in DC on the 22nd and I'm super excited about it!!!

got some meatless nuggets.

It snowed yesterday :)

When I woke up this morning, the snow was gone :(

Since I worked one day last week, I'm working 3 days this week(Mon, Tue and Wed).

I normally work from 10am to 3pm

but today, I was at work from 9am to 5pm.

It was very busy day!

My hubby and I got to play "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" board game

that I got my hubby for Christmas last night.

I thought I would not like this much and OMG! it was so much fun!

I won! I won! I WON!!! :D

While we were playing this game, I made some green tea latte

that we got when we went to O’Sulloc Tea Museum in Jeju Island, Sound Korea.

My hubby does not like marshmallows but I love them so much!

My Second Handmade Dress

I made the 2nd handmade dress today!

I made my 1st handmade dress in September last year. (click here to see it!)

Since this is my 2nd dress, I wanted to make the same style dress

like the my 1st dress. I added some races on my 2nd dress this time.

Oh! I just found out that Project Runway is back!

It's called Project Runway All Stars.

I'm happy to see Mondo and Sweet P

but I miss seeing Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum.

ps, I can not believe that Daniel Vosovic is not on this Project Runway All Stars.

He is my STAR!!

I watched the first episode of Project Runway All Stars and sewing my 2nd dress.

Since it's Blythe's outfit, it's very tiny.

I've decided to hand sew the top and used sewing machine for the skirt.

Tada!!
